Historical Origins

Zhang Fei Temple was built during the Shu Han period to commemorate the famous Three Kingdoms general Zhang Fei, with a history of over 1,700 years.

The original site of the temple was in the old Yunyang County town but was relocated due to the Three Gorges Project, becoming an important achievement in cultural relic protection in the Three Gorges Reservoir area.

Zhang Fei Temple is an important carrier of Three Kingdoms culture, preserving a large number of cultural relics and stone inscriptions related to Zhang Fei.
