
Qingjiang Gallery Scenic Area is located in Changyang Tujia Autonomous County, Yichang City, Hubei Province. It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction. The scenic area follows the Qingjiang River for about 87 kilometers, covering an area of approximately 300 square kilometers. Known as the "Landscape Gallery" and "Mother River of Tujia People", it features beautiful mountains and clear waters, combining natural scenery with Tujia ethnic culture. It's an important part of the Yangtze River Three Gorges tourism area. Main facilities include Tujia Folk Custom Park and cruise docks.
History and Culture
The Qingjiang River is the birthplace and mother river of the Tujia ethnic group, nurturing the splendid Ba-Tu culture. As early as 4,000 years ago, the Ba people thrived here, creating a unique Ba culture.
Changyang Tujia Autonomous County is the only Tujia autonomous county in Hubei Province. The Qingjiang River basin preserves numerous traditional Tujia villages and folk cultures. Tujia's stilt houses, hand-waving dance, and wedding crying customs are well preserved here as intangible cultural heritage.
Historically, the Qingjiang River was an important waterway, witnessing the cultural exchange between Tujia and Han people. Wuluo Zhongli Mountain in the scenic area is said to be the birthplace of Linjun, the ancient Ba leader, holding significant historical and cultural value.

Wuluo Zhongli Mountain
With an elevation of 384 meters, Wuluo Zhongli Mountain is the landmark attraction of Qingjiang Gallery. Legend has it as the birthplace of Linjun, the ancient Ba leader. The mountain features historical sites like Linjun Temple and Xiangwang Temple. The summit offers a panoramic view of the Qingjiang River.
Immortal Village
Immortal Village is a typical karst landscape at about 500 meters above sea level. It contains natural wonders like Immortal Cave and Natural Bridge, along with well-preserved ancient Tujia villages showcasing authentic Tujia lifestyle.
Reflection Gorge
This 5-kilometer-long gorge features steep cliffs on both sides and crystal-clear water. Named for its mirror-like surface reflecting mountain views, it's one of the most spectacular sections of Qingjiang Gallery.
Tujia Folk Custom Street
This 800-meter-long street showcases Tujia architecture, handicrafts, dances and other cultural elements. Visitors can experience traditional activities like Tujia brocade weaving and rice cake making, and purchase local handicrafts.
