Guilin Merryland Resort World is located in Xing'an County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a national 5A-level tourist scenic area and a large-scale amusement place that integrates fashion, dynamics, excitement and joy.
The resort world covers a total area of 6,000 mu, among which the surface of Linghu Lake is 780 mu wide, and the deepest part can reach 30 meters. Inside the resort world, there is an American-style hilly international standard 36-hole golf course, as well as a leisure resort hotel that integrates the beauty of Guilin's mountains and waters, the art of ethnic minorities in Guangxi and the joyful culture of Merryland. In the theme park, there are seven major areas: Happy China Town, American West Area, Dream Theme Area, Pirate Village, South Pacific Area, European Area and Mantuo Luo Area.
History and Culture
Guilin Merryland Resort World was invested and built by Mr. Ma Zhiling, the largest Chinese securities dealer in the world. The total planned investment for the whole project is 3.1 billion yuan. The first phase of the project was completed and all put into operation on December 25, 2000.
Mr. Ma Zhiling, the founder of Merryland, is extremely fond of camellias. Since 1997, he has established a camellia cultivation base in Merryland, successfully introduced and cultivated tens of thousands of camellia trees and grafted seedlings, and collected more than 380 camellia varieties at home and abroad. In March 2003, the "Furong Xiangbo" selected and sent by Merryland won the silver award in the Fourth China Camellia Exhibition. From March 1st to 20th, 2005, Merryland held the 2005 Merryland International Camellia Exposition, which was the grandest camellia exhibition in Chinese history in terms of scale, variety completeness, quantity and high taste.
The wooden structure decoration of the ceiling in the lobby of Merryland Resort Hotel integrates the architectural styles of various ethnic minorities in Guangxi. The floor tiles at the entrance of the lobby use unique bronze drum decorative floor tiles of the Dong ethnic group. The Bell and Drum Tower in the water courtyard of the hotel is built with reference to the Bell and Drum Tower in the Dong ethnic area of Guangxi. The whole building is hexagonal and has three floors, and the main body is all joined together with wooden tenons.

Happy China Town
The architectural style is full of ancient Chinese characteristics, with city walls in the style of the Great Wall, pavilions, towers and other buildings. The main amusement facilities include the Firewheel, the Tornado, the Shenma Cinema, the Carousel and so on. There are also characteristic venues such as the Linghu Yanbo Pavilion, the Huigu Photo Studio, and the Hanxiang Folk Art Museum. Tourists can buy characteristic souvenirs, and also experience the traditional culture of calligraphy, painting and folk handicrafts.
American West Area
The style of the American West during the 18th-century pioneering period can be seen everywhere. The main amusement facilities include the Rapid River Rafting, the Hollywood Film and Television Stunt Show, the Thunderclap, the Sharpshooter and so on. There are also characteristic shops such as the Pioneer's Home and the Hamburger Shop, where you can buy cowboy costumes and other items and taste authentic American fast food.
South Pacific Area
Designed with a tropical style, the service staff wear flowery shirts. The main amusement items include South Pacific Dance, Airship Surfing, the Breaking Wave Roller Coaster, Bungee Jumping, the Great Barrier Reef Rock Climbing and so on. Pirate Village
It is mainly composed of Caribbean-style landscape buildings, and the waiters wear pirate costumes. Dream World Area

European Area

Mantuo Luo Garden
There are the new eight scenic spots of Merryland, including the Misty Linghu Lake, the Wind and Rain Dong Bridge, the Long-lasting Tea Ceremony and so on. The Wind and Rain Dong Bridge is the sister bridge of the Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge and is the only navigable wind and rain bridge in the world. - Self-driving: Starting from Guilin urban area, drive along the six-lane national first-class highway. The whole journey is 63 kilometers and the driving time is about 45 minutes; starting from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, the driving time is about 55 minutes. You can enjoy the pastoral forest landscape and karst landform in northern Guangxi along the way.
- Public transportation: You can first take a bus from Guilin urban area to Xing'an County, and then transfer to a local bus or taxi to go to Guilin Merryland Resort World.
Must-visit Scenic Spots
- "Holy War Cavalry": Located in the European Area, it is one of the latest large-scale amusement facilities in the world. It can carry 30 tourists at a time. While swinging left and right like a pendulum, it will also rotate at a high speed of 25 kilometers per hour. The maximum swing amplitude reaches 120 degrees, sending tourists to a height of 17 meters, allowing them to experience a strong feeling of weightlessness and centrifugal force.
- "Thunderclap": In the American West Area, the huge pulling force instantly lifts tourists to a height of 30 meters, and then they fall vertically from the high altitude at a lightning speed, bringing an extreme weightless experience.
- "Wind and Rain Dong Bridge": In Mantuo Luo Garden, it is the sister bridge of the Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge. The bridge is 92.8 meters long and is joined together with logs by tenons without using any nails or rivets. It is the only navigable wind and rain bridge in the world and has great ornamental value.
